OUR VISION
We are a group of people that believe in the power of music, art, community and sustainability. Established in 2016 VFL aims to be an igniting force for people all over the world to join forces and together create a sustainable future for Lake Atitlan.
THE PROBLEM
In the bosom of the Guatemalan highlands, surrounded by natural beauty and mysticism, we find Lake Atitlán. In recent years the famous beauty of the lake has been threatened by the lack of healthy environments:
THE CULTURAL ENVIRONMENT
Given the lack of spaces for cultural appreciation, development and questioning. We want to give local and emerging visual artists, musicians, entrepreneurs, and leaders a place to gather and share. The art and music, are the perfect landscape to nurture meaningful connections.
THE NATURAL ENVIRONMENT
Lake Atitlan and its surrounding villages ecosystem has been degraded by decades of unregulated activities. We want to help the creation of a healthier natural ecosystem, where democratized decisions could devote resources to improve environmental sustainability.
